Con Cover, la nueva sección de Disorder que recopila covers/versiones en torno a un grupo/solista, tuvo como estrellas a The Clash en su primera edición. Hoy, todo girará en torno a la figura de Paul Weller. Incluyendo la corta -pero prolija- carrera de The Jam, que va desde 1977 a 1982, además de su posterior (y aún vigente) aventura solista.

Ninguna canción, tanto de Paul Weller como de The Jam, destaca por haber sido versionada en muchas oportunidades. Tal vez ‘That’s Entertainment‘, incluida por Morrissey en su grandes éxitos ‘Suedehead’ (1997) y versionada de manera do it yourself por múltiples fans, en youtube.

Lo que si llama la atención es la relación Beatles – The Jam – Oasis.

Partiendo por que ‘Start!‘, single del disco ‘Sound Affects’ (1980) de The Jam, sigue la misma base rítmica que ‘Taxman’, del disco ‘Revolver’ (1966) de Lennon, McCartney, Harrison y Ringo. Además, hay registro audiovisual de Weller haciendo covers de ‘Instant Karma‘ (de Lennon), ‘All You Need Is Love‘ (con Noel Gallagher) y ‘Come Together‘ (con Paul McCartney y, otra vez, Noel).

Por otro lado, los Gallagher son fans declarados de Paul Weller y The Jam. No es extraño ver a Noel o Gem Archer junto a Weller. De hecho, han colaborado mutuamente para canciones de estudio.
